As the foundation to the entire refinish system, our primers are designed to offer outstanding adhesion and protection. The primer range consists of multiple binder technologies including polyurethane, epoxy, acrylic and etch.
DTM2001 Direct to Metal Primer - White
DTM2001 primer is formulated with a hybrid of epoxy and acrylic polymers, which provide excellent adhesion, good corrosion resistance, productive dry times and ease of sanding. This primer emits very low amounts of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC's), Hazardous Air Polluting Solvents (HAPS) and contain no isocyanates.

DTM2035 Multi Use DTM Primer
DTM2035 is a highly versatile, direct to metal, isocyanate-free, high build primer/surfacer. It may be applied to correctly prepared steel, aluminium, galvanised steel, sheet moulding composite (SMC), e-Coat and existing OEM finishes.
The epoxy/acrylic hybrid technology gives an excellent combination of properties including excellent adhesion to multiple substrates, excellent corrosion resistance; all combined in a fast drying, easy-to-use formulation.
DTM2035 is ideal for new e-coat panels, large bare metal areas (as a traditional etch primer is not required) and restoration work.

HS35 Multi Use 2K Surfacer/Sealer
HS35 is a two component, high build polyurethane primer/surfacer. It is designed to provide the ultimate in performance, durability, moisture resistance, productivity and superior sanding characteristics.
It is designed to be applied over a suitable primer to provide a high build, easy to sand finish, ready to accept basecoat or topcoat colour.
Suitable previous coats include VP50 Epoxy Primer, DTM2035, SE88 and existing OEM finishes.

VP50 Epoxy Primer
VP50 Epoxy Primer is a durable, high build, two component epoxy primer. If offers superior corrosion protection with excellent adhesion to correctly prepared steel, aluminium, galvanised steel, fibreglass and existing OEM finishes.
VP50 is ideally suited for vehicle restoration work due to its excellent build (up to 150 microns) which combined with its tightly crosslinked epoxy matrix provides superior corrosion protection for long periods with unlimited overcoating (when sanded prior to overcoating).

VP60 Epoxy Primer Gray
VP60 Epoxy Primer is a versatile, durable, high build, two component epoxy primer. If offers excellent corrosion protection with superior adhesion to correctly prepared steel, aluminium, galvanised steel, fibreglass, SMC and existing OEM finishes. VP60 is well suited for vehicle restoration work due to its excellent build (up to 150 microns) which combined with its tightly crosslinked epoxy matrix provides superior corrosion protection for long periods with unlimited overcoatability (when sanded) or 5 days (without sanding).
VP60 is a versatile system that may be used as a high build surfacer (with 20% Reducer) or a productive primer sealer (with 40% Reducer). It is a perfect base for the Valspar Refinish colour system being compatible with HS35 Surfacer/Sealer, 862 2K Polyurethane Topcoat and 888 High Performance Basecoat.

AP33 1K Acrylic Primer
AP33 is a single component, fast dry, acrylic primer/filler with excellent build characteristics.
The fast dry, high build formulation provides excellent filling and sanding characteristics. AP33 may be applied direct to fibreglass and gelcoat or to pre-primed aluminium and steel.

Industrial Etch
Industrial Etch is a single component modified epoxy primer formulated to give excellent adhesion to most substrates.
Valspar Industrial Etch Primer has an unlimited pot life, and is very fast drying, being touch dry in 5 minutes.
This primer can be overcoated wet-on-wet or sanded with a variety of topcoats.
